Candela Soul at Nuits d'Afrique 2006       Candela Soul is a Latin Alternative band formed in 1998 in the Bronx, New York.  Their latest release, the self titled "Candela Soul," was released in 2006.  The musicians and musical influences hail from Puerto Rico, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ireland and Korea.            The band combines traditional rhythms with Afro-Cuban , Puerto Rican soneo, Colombian cumbia - alongside rock, pop, salsa and hip-hop.  Current band members include: Lisa "Candela" Torres - vocals, Luis "El Diablito" Burgos - songwriter/guitar, Marlon Portela - songwriter/bass, Wilson Rodriguez -- percussion & drums & Felix "Junior" Amaro - percussion.
